Start in 2026 SummerThe Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education is offering an undergraduate internship at the Air Force Institute of Technology. As an ORISE participant, you will conduct research related to hypersonic technology under the guidance of a mentor.

Conduct research related to all aspects of hypersonic technology
Engage in a variety of research activities that may include: High temperature materials, Hypersonic trade studies, Hypersonic aerothermodynamics, Hypersonic controls/trajectories, Hypersonic navigation, Sensing for detection/tracking
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree
Citizenship: U.S. Citizen Only
Preferred
A solid academic background in a research area that aligns with at least one of those described in the project description above
A strong interest in furthering their STEM education at the graduate level
