RTG Legal Assistant (Knoxville, TN)

The Legal Assistant will assist RTG’s legal counsel with drafting and revising contracts, managing insurance and real estate licensure programs, and providing support related to legal issues and risks.

Responsibilities

Manage the firm’s legal inbox and contract database in an efficient and organized manner
Process legal requests and manage contracts through the entire contract lifecycle
Assist with drafting, reviewing, and administering various types of contracts RTG regularly enters into in the course and scope of business
Assist with formatting and proofreading various legal documents and other client deliverables
Format, produce, compile, edit, and proofread documents to ensure that they meet RTG’s brand standards and guidelines. Documents will include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents in various formats, including agreements, engagement letters, reports, presentations, proposals, and other types of documents as assigned
Thoroughly proofread completed work for spelling, grammar, punctuation and format
Contribute to the legal team’s successful completion of projects by ensuring highest quality work product is fulfilled prior to applicable deadlines
Help manage RTG’s real estate licensing program by assisting the firm and its personnel with registering and complying with various states’ statutes and rules
Help manage RTG’s corporate insurance program by providing assistance on insurance audits, insurance renewals, COI procurement, etc
Help file RTG’s annual reports, business license applications, and other similar types of documents and filings in various jurisdictions
Help update and format the Employee Handbook on a regular basis and assist with policy administration
Provide any other type of assistance to RTG as it relates to legal issues and risks
Perform other assigned work for the firm’s service lines or for the firm in general as directed by management

Required

Ability to understand RTG's standard contract templates and to correctly customize contract templates for each transaction
Proficient with Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Excellent documentation, records retention, and work paper organizational skills (must be detail oriented)

Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information

An Associate Degree or a Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies, English, History, or other writing and research-intensive majors
