Responsibilities
Lead sourcing, evaluation, and execution of private equity investments
Structure creative capital solutions to meet the needs of management teams and investors
Drive investment thesis development, oversee detailed due diligence, and lead term sheet negotiation and documentation processes
Take a leading role in Investment Committee discussions, presenting clear, data-driven recommendations and insights to senior leadership and external stakeholders
Actively manage portfolio companies through board participation, strategic planning, operational improvements, and preparation for exit events
Cultivate and expand relationships with management teams, investment banks, deal intermediaries, and institutional investors to enhance deal flow and fundraising efforts
Contribute meaningfully to Star Mountain’s broader strategic initiatives, including firm leadership, fundraising, business development, and platform growth
Mentor and manage junior and mid-level team members, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture focused on excellence and accountability
Qualification
Required
12+ years of relevant recent experience in private equity
Proven track record sourcing, executing, and managing middle-market investments in companies with $5-50 million of EBITDA
Strong portfolio management background, including board participation, operational oversight, and exit optimization
Excellent strategic, analytical, and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with investors and management teams
Proven leadership in building and developing teams; recognized as a mentor and culture carrier
Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for contributing to the growth of a leading private investment firm
Willingness to travel nationwide as needed for deal sourcing, portfolio management, and investor engagement
Timing: Immediate
Location: Must be willing to work out of our Tampa or NYC office
Preferred
Prior experience in investment banking, consulting, and operating businesses is a plus
Investment experience in business services, industrials, healthcare, and technology is desirable
