Responsibilities
Supervise inspection/testing staff with emphasis on positive employee relations in accordance with Company policies and procedures
Maintain positive customer relations in executing inspection/testing operations
Observe and monitor inspection and test execution to ensure process and product conformance to requirements
Lead inspection/test to the successful completion while meeting the production and customer delivery schedules
Take appropriate countermeasures to assure delivery of an on-time & on-quality final product and final product test
Provide leadership, direction, support and training for inspection and test inspectors
Lead lean quality improvement team in meeting yearly improvement goals; communicates with the team manager on performance to plan
Oversees activities related to inspection and test inspectors including staffing, scheduling, coordinating, and planning
Practice 6S and assure department adherence to all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices
Train, implement and sustain lean manufacturing/quality principles by actively participating and at times leading Continuous Improvement events
Promote a culture of process control and quality excellence by providing effective leadership for problem solving, failure investigations, and implementing appropriate countermeasures. Support and make recommendations to improve company policies and procedures
Know HICO’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and their impact in the workplace
Perform other duties as assigned
Supervise test equipment and tool inspections/calibration as required
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree in technical or business field with at least 5 years' work experience in electrical testing in an electrical, utility, industrial and/or manufacturing setting or equivalent education and experience
Developed timekeeping and coordination skills to effectively assign team members to tasks
Developed supervisory skills to lead teams and meet production schedule requirements
General knowledge of electrical power systems
General knowledge of inspection tools, instruments and equipment
Developed computer skills with emphasis on MS Office and business enterprise systems for entering/retrieving data, charts/graphs and some statistical analysis
Ability to use office equipment and tools, such as: PC, photocopier, fax machine, test equipment, quality instruments, digital camera, etc
Ability to read and understand design drawings and to use inspection tools such as tape measures, scales, levels, micrometers, calipers, etc
Ability to operate powered equipment, such as fork truck and overhead crane
Ability to travel to domestic and international locations
Ability to communicate with others to complete work assignments
Ability to analyze data and develop accompanying reports
Ability to work well with outside suppliers and service providers
