Responsibilities
Conducts and may lead product technical design, prototyping, software development, bug verification, and resolution
Conducts and may lead system analysis and programming activities, which may require research and timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production
Conducts and may lead technical or engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery through retirement
Conducts and may lead testing and review of applications based on business requirements and industry best practices
Uses best practices and standard guidance to create and modify code. Considers impact of code changes on end users and internal teams. Reviews code created by less experienced team members
Works with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. Leads complex decisions, presents options, and advocates for optimal solutions
Collaborates with cross-functional teams as needed
Performs critical tasks and deliverables. Sets and updates expectations regarding size, scope, and timelines
Leads team in cross-functional meetings and discussions
Creates and reviews required technical documentation
Maintains current knowledge of industry practices and developments in software technology. Shares expertise with the team
Adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards. Participates in and may influence the definition and documentation of standards
Leads unit and integration testing to ensure reliability, security, and performance of developed software. Debugs and troubleshoots issues, providing timely resolutions
May contribute to product architecture
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum 9 years of technical experience in software development or related field
Minimum 5 years Java coding/development in a complex enterprise environment
Minimum 5 years COBOL coding/development in a z/OS mainframe environment
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in software development, or a related field, preferred, but not required
Programming/software engineering related certifications a plus and/or an active desire to pursue such certifications
Experience with Azure
