Program Director - Camp Potlatch

BGC South Coast BC is seeking a Program Director for Camp Potlatch, a wilderness camp located along the shores of Howe Sound. The Program Director will oversee summer programs for children and youth, ensuring engaging and age-appropriate activities while fostering a fun and safe environment.

Responsibilities

The Program Director is expected to be present and highly visible around camp
This person will occasionally run programs throughout the day and provide daily feedback to both Area Heads and Cabin Leaders assigned to work in each area
Other duties include providing quality programs during the boat ride to and from camp, creating meal skits and evening programs in collaboration with the Area Heads, as well as running meals and campfires
Must be willing to dress up and take part in all camp-wide programming

Required

Must be at least 19 years old by July 1, 2025
Experience working in a Cabin Leader, Area Head, or Day Camp Leader role at an overnight summer camp or day camp
Available to work the duration of the Summer contract (June 21-August 22 2025)
Clean Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
Standard First Aid with CPR “C”
National Lifeguard (NL)
Pleasure Craft Operators License
FOODSAFE Level 1

Preferred

Post-secondary courses/training in a related field preferred
Previous experience with wilderness out-tripping preferred
Previous experience facilitating a variety of camp or day camp programming for youth
Belay Training
Provincial Canoe/Kayak Levels
Clean Class 4 Driver's License or equivalent
