Legends Global is seeking a Building Operating Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of HVAC and refrigeration systems. The role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of various mechanical systems, as well as conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

Determines the sequence required to install, maintain, adjust, modify and perform major overhaul and repair of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilating systems

Performs calibration of all electrical and pneumatic control components, by interpreting blue prints, manufacturer and LACC specifications written and verbal

Operates, maintains, and makes minor repairs on facility equipment such as; absorption heater/chiller, building automation system, air dryers and domestic hot water heater

Repairs, maintains, troubleshoots and performs preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment such as; walk-in freezer/refrigerator, reach-in freezer/refrigerator, air handler system (exhaust ventilation, return air systems), direct expansion package system, split systems, water treatment of open and closed loop systems, cooling towers, circulating pumps

Conducts routine visual inspection of equipment

Performs preventative maintenance on equipment such as changing oil, air/water filters, system water, cleaning and lubricating and adjusting equipment

Operates and maintains building HVAC, lighting and Fire Life Safety Automation systems

Completes daily work activity reports, sign off of all completed work requests and make all daily log book entries

Informs the Lead Certified Engineer of necessary parts needed for equipment repairs and status of completed/uncompleted work requests

Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Required to take an annual respiratory examination

Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and confined spaces

Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and must use PPE when required

Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high

This is an onsite position that requires collaboration with multiple departments
