Tool Engineer

Responsibilities

Designing, developing, and implementing industrial tooling and equipment used to manufacture offensive and defensive weapons systems
Designing tooling such as dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, prototype model production and machine attachments required for production or experimental use
Considering such factors as safety, accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements while designing
Using 3D CAD software (Creo) to create detailed 3D models and technical drawing packages
Reviewing defective tooling and determining rework solutions
Providing input on manufacturing methods and process improvements

Required

Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and education
Proficient in the use of CAD Software (Creo, SolidWorks, Catia etc)
Ability to interpret technical drawings, product specifications, and other technical data
Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams etc.)
Candidate must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a Secret security clearance
This position typically requires 2 years of professional experience

Preferred

Knowledge of tool concept and design
Experience with tooling and tool fabrication
Experience in a manufacturing environment
CREO/Pro E experience
Familiar with GD&T
Familiar with SAP
Familiarity with Lockheed Martin processes and procedures
Ability to collaborate within a multi-functional team
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
