Facilities Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design and development efforts from concept through production
Create and review AutoCAD design documents, submittals, and site-specific specifications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including electrical, systems, software, and manufacturing—to ensure mechanical designs meet all functional and environmental requirements
Conduct engineering analyses to validate mechanical designs under operational conditions
Develop and maintain comprehensive site documentation
Troubleshoot design and maintenance issues; recommend and implement corrective actions
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, energy standards, and industry regulations

Required

Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6–10 years. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical systems design, including HVAC and plumbing, for commercial, industrial, or government facilities
Strong working knowledge of building codes, energy standards, and regulatory frameworks
Proven ability to perform heating and cooling load calculations, ductwork sizing/layout, piping system design, and equipment selection
Demonstrated expertise in CAD tools such as AutoCAD
Experience developing mechanical systems for commercial HVAC applications
Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory authorities
Familiarity with Facility Management Control Systems (FMCS)
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within one year of hire
