Responsibilities

Performs terminal maintenance to include, but not limited to correction of mechanical problems at the load rack, correction of mechanical problems with petroleum tank brodie valves, gauging devices and alarm systems, correction of mechanical problems within terminal pipeline system, and coordinator of outside assistance in repair of facility equipment, when necessary
Functions as a member of the 24-hour on-call Terminal Oil Spill Response Team
Receives/transfers products by pipeline and ship/barge
Has full understanding of pipeline configuration
Coordinates products "flushes"
Monitors flow rate into tanks
Manual gauging of tanks
Hourly gauging/leak checks
Has understanding of HI & HI-HI alarm system
Uses basic math to compute tank capacity
Ensures safe and efficient receipt of product
Performs accurate facility testing to include, but not limited to assists contractor with pipeline pressure testing, assists contractor with load rack meter calibration, pull samples for delivery truck tank testing, monthly RVP (Reid Vapor Pressure) testing, and assures additive compliance
24-hour on-call trouble response
Identifies emergency matters and notifies principal (s), as necessary
Performs truck washing and janitorial duties as assigned
Performs other duties as assigned by the Terminal Superintendent
Performs general house keeping duties to include, but not limited to, janitorial duties, weed control, load rack cleanliness, pavement upkeep, etc
Performs routine security rounds throughout the facility

High school diploma or equivalent
Performs basic arithmetic and other mathematical calculations

Hazardous material training
Ensures safe and efficient receipt and shipping of hazardous material with full authority to stop and prevent an unsafe act

2 years' experience as a Terminal Operator preferred
