Assistant Professor - Transportation Engineering

Responsibilities

Have a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Demonstrate research capability that enables the development of an externally funded, independent research program and publish in leading scholarly journals
Collaborate with colleagues
Develop new research initiatives
Participate in ongoing research projects

Required

Both a bachelor's degree and a Ph.D. in civil engineering or a closely related field prior to the start date of the appointment
Expertise in transportation planning, traffic engineering, transportation operations, transportation safety, transportation sustainability and resilience, transportation data science, connected and autonomous vehicles, smart infrastructure, or logistics

Preferred

B.S. and/or a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering
Strong record of scholarly achievement in the area of transportation planning, transportation safety, transportation sustainability and resilience, traffic engineering, transportation operations, transportation data science, connected and autonomous vehicles, smart infrastructure, or logistics
Relevant postdoctoral or industrial experience
Strong record of grant applications and funding
