Responsibilities

Provides technical expertise on dam operations, spillways, and outlet works. Develops and reviews training materials on dam fundamentals, inspection techniques, and maintenance best practices. Ensures technical accuracy and compliance with DOI Safety of Dams standards. Transforms Dam O&M principles into practical training modules that operators can apply the next day. Author classroom modules on Dam funDamentals, spillways/outlets, O&M best practices; support field practicum checklists; review site-specific appendices; mentor junior staff; contribute to instrumentation overviews; technical QA/QC of slides and workbooks

Required

10+ years civil/water resources focused on Dams/canals/reservoirs; prior federal owner/operator or consultant experience; familiarity with DOI SOD frameworks; past training or technical facilitation experience

BSCE required; MS preferred; PE license required (any state, ability to obtain reciprocity)

Hydraulics/hydrology basics, outlet/spillway operations, inspection documentation, drawing reading, redlining, technical writing, public speaking

Accuracy, clarity, safety-first mindset, learner-centric communication, systems thinking

Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools

Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills for effective team management

Outstanding time management and prioritization abilities to meet project milestones

All personnel must possess an active Secret clearance with eligibility for Interim TS/SCI or a full TS/SCI clearance in DISS at the time of proposal submission and maintain it throughout the contract
