Manufacturing Engineer III (2nd-Shift)
Blue Origin is a company focused on developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. The Manufacturing Engineer III will be responsible for developing and supporting the New Glenn rocket assembly processes, translating engineering intent into functional hardware, and optimizing manufacturing processes for quality and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities
Develop and support the New Glenn rocket assembly processes
Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight
Identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequences and schedules
Create, interpret, and modify work instructions and routings to convey procedures to technicians and trigger material planning
Closely manage quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware throughout the entire manufacturing process
Perform engineering drawing review and provide final approval for manufacturing
Define and support repair and rework activities
Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actions
Design proper material handling and packaging to protect hardware throughout the build and test process
Manage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree throughout the entire build and test process
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering
9+ years of direct manufacturing and manufacturing engineering experience
Develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the following manufacturing process: fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment
Closely manage quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware throughout the entire manufacturing process
Perform engineering drawing review and provide final approval for manufacturing
Define and support repair and rework activities
Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actions
Design proper material handling and packaging to protect hardware throughout the build and test process
Manage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree throughout the entire build and test process
Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T
Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)
Ability to develop processes compliant with industry quality systems such as AS9100
Extremely customer-focused with strong verbal and written communication skills
A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances
Must be physically able to support production floor activities
Must be physically able to climb stairs and work in small areas
Must be physically able to lift and carry 40 lbs
Preferred
Aerospace/Launch vehicle experience
Engines prep/install, valves, manifolds, quick disconnects, subassemblies, and/or aerospace structural build experience is a plus

Broad experience in hardware manufacturing: welding, assembly, integration, instrumentation, cleaning, non-destructive testing, leak testing, final acceptance testing of integrated hardware, fabrication, machining, etc
Proficiency with CAD modeling. Ability to model tooling
