Automatic Systems Company is an industry-leading provider of water, wastewater, and industrial control systems. They are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Controls Technician to join their field service team, responsible for installation, modifications, and support of electrical control systems in municipal facilities.

Responsibilities

Provide installation and/or field modifications of electrical control systems including PLC’s, variable frequency drives, operator interface terminals, panel mount air conditioners, process instrumentation, and similar type devices within municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities

Instrumentation configuration and calibrations

Motor Control Center and Variable Frequency Drive start-up and commissioning

Fiber-optic terminations and testing

Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches

Produce timely and detailed service reports

Operate vehicle in a safe manner and use field automation systems

Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols

Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization

Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings

Build positive relationships with customers

Required

A 2-year electrical technology degree or 3-years of relevant field experience in an electrical field

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documents

Ability to use hand tools and power equipment such as drills and saws

Ability to use a multimeter and other testing tools

Candidate must possess good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of co-workers, management, and clients

Must be able to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail, and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly

Travel in the Midwest generally 3 to 4 nights per week
