Responsibilities

Design/configure Service Now employee center pro as central intranet hub
Develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas and user flows
Customize ServiceNow widgets, pages, and themes using Service Portal and UI Builder
Work closely with ServiceNow developers and administrators to implement and test configurations
Establish and maintain user experience and interface design standards for the employee portal, ensuring consistency, accessibility (WCAG), and alignment with brand guidelines
Develop and document UX patterns, component libraries, and style guides to support scalable and cohesive portal design
Review and approve portal features, wireframes, and prototypes for usability, accessibility, and visual quality prior to deployment
Continuously update standards based on user research, analytics, and evolving best practices in digital workplace design
Lead cross-functional design workshops and co-creation sessions with business stakeholders, platform owners, and end users to capture needs and validate design concepts
Mentor and coach team members and content owners on user-centric design principles, prototyping, and usability testing
Foster a collaborative design culture by facilitating regular design reviews, feedback sessions, and knowledge sharing forums
Enable teams to leverage design tools (e.g., Figma, Miro) and agile methodologies for efficient collaboration and iterative improvement of the portal experience
Work closely with Microsoft & Service Now administrators and developers to enhance the knowledge portal experience, including taxonomy, searchability, and integration with intake forms
Stay up to date with current trends and key tools capabilities to identify areas where configuration / development can lead to an improved experience
Monitor performance and usage analytics to optimize the portal experience
Use analytics to identify gaps, inform content strategy, and drive continuous improvement
Identify automation use cases that lead to the development of ROI driven improvements
This is an individual contributor role that manages and executes the process
This reports into the IT Transformation Office with dotted line accountability to Marketing Department

Required

Bachelors degree in graphic arts preferred
3+ years of proven experience designing and configuring portals in ServiceNow, especially Employee Center Pro is a must have
Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, information architecture, and responsive design
Proficiency with ServiceNow UI Builder, Service Portal, and Now Experience Framework
Experience with front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps
Ability to understand and action A/B testing in the design stages
Identify areas of usability where the experience is not optimal and correct
Excellent communications and collaboration skills
Ability to articulate complex designs into easily understood terms
Service Now Certified System Administrator or Employee Center Certification
Experience with FIGMA, Adobe XD, or similar design tools
Background in HR, ITSM, or Digital workplace transformation projects
