Responsibilities

Perform system and application monitoring and alerting related to the SQL Server environment
Work with Application Engineering teams to maintain stored procedures, indexes, and database access interfaces
Automate systems management tasks
Conduct performance analysis and tuning, especially in .NET/MS SQL environments
Operationalize new technologies introduced into the environment
Collaborate with Business Product Owners to identify priorities for application development and enhancements
Participate in a 24x7 on-call response rotation
Demonstrate creative thinking, advanced problem-solving, and troubleshooting
Administer MS SQL Server (2008, 2012, 2014, 2016,2022)
Implement high availability solutions (Mirroring, Replication, Clustering, Always On)
Manage database security, users, and roles
Monitor and analyze SQL query performance. Provide expertise in writing efficient and effective queries
Review data scripts and provide feedback
Implement data recovery techniques from backup/restore
Monitor real-time transaction processing and identify issues
Set up and manage clustered databases and replication techniques
Guide to Application Engineering teams in SQL development
Automate deployment, monitoring, and incident response
Enhance observability with metrics and dashboards
Lead incident response and maintain documentation
Collaborate with engineers to build reliable systems
Mentor team members and contribute to postmortems
Use AI tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement

Qualification

Required

5+ years' experience in DBA, SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles
Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) and CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with data platforms, ETL pipelines, and distributed systems
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Experience with Python, PowerShell, and similar languages
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

Preferred

5+ years' experience in query optimization and performance tuning
Experience with Microsoft Azure, SSIS, SSAS, or PowerShell
Permissions/User Management experience
Willingness to learn new technologies and take ownership of technical projects
