They are seeking a Lab Analyst to join their Microbiology/Asbestos team in East Syracuse, NY, responsible for preparing and analyzing samples, maintaining laboratory instruments, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
After appropriate training independently prepares and analyzes samples according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of laboratory instruments/equipment
May assist with validation and LOQ studies
Assists with investigation, and preparation of responses to client inquiries and CAPs
Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations
Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable
Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate Degree in Biology, Chemistry or similar scientific discipline and 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Laboratories OR 3 years of relevant experience (i.e. Sample Prep)
Advanced English language skills
Basic reasoning and mathematical skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull upwards of 25 lbs on a frequent basis
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or similar scientific discipline and 1-2 years of relevant experience in Analytical Laboratories
