Summer Student - Finance

StandardAero is one of the world’s leading independent maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) providers for commercial aviation. They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to support their RB211 engine program, gaining hands-on experience in financial analysis, cost management, and budget tracking within the aerospace MRO sector.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing financial reports and analysis related to the RB211 program, including budget vs. actual comparisons, cost forecasting, and trend analysis
Support the tracking of maintenance and repair costs, including labor, materials, and overhead expenses. Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
Maintain and update financial databases, ensuring accurate and timely data entry for expense tracking, invoicing, and purchase orders
Help with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing support during month-end and quarter-end closing activities
Assist in reviewing and processing vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and accurate allocation
Work with the finance, procurement, and operations teams to understand key cost drivers and improve financial reporting accuracy
Prepare financial documentation, presentations, and reports for internal stakeholders, including summaries of key financial metrics

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with financial software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn about the aerospace and MRO industry

Preferred

Prior internship or coursework in finance, accounting, or aviation management is a plus but not required
