Responsibilities
Oversee mechanical and plumbing system design for buildings and infrastructure from initial planning to final construction
Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, and detailed construction documents to ensure quality and compliance
Lead internal and external coordination across disciplines to manage project scope, schedule, and budget
Conduct on-site investigations and provide construction phase support to validate design intent and troubleshoot issues
Serve as a client-facing engineer, presenting updates, leading meetings, and representing engineering excellence with professionalism
Mentor junior team members, fostering their technical growth and quality of deliverables
Leverage industry-standard design tools, including CADD, BIM, and simulation platforms, to develop efficient system solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited program
Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical or plumbing system design
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida required
Strong communication skills and ability to lead project components and team collaboration
Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to manage time effectively across multiple priorities and mentor less experienced engineers
Preferred
Familiarity with sustainable design practices and energy efficiency standards
Experience coordinating across multi-disciplinary teams on complex public or private sector building projects
Working knowledge of additional state licensure or willingness to obtain licensure outside Florida is a plus
