Responsibilities

Lead the development of system power flow, efficiency, and transmission components for electrified drive unit technologies
Drive innovation with feature experts in the development of advanced components
Define propulsion system requirements based on vehicle-level targets and performance goals
As a member of the global Technology and Innovation (T&I) team, contribute innovative solutions for electrified drive system during the ideation phase
Own the design and release of all transmission components, including technical communication and coordination with suppliers
Lead testing activities to validate and correlate high-fidelity simulation models
Support continuous improvement of system integration through internal and external benchmarking efforts
Contribute to the development of technology strategies for electrified propulsion systems
Collaborate with advanced mechanical and thermal engineering teams to ensure timely project delivery that meets internal standards, customer-specific requirements, and industry regulations
Participate in business development and pursuit activities
Represent BorgWarner at automotive symposiums as part of technological intelligence initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required (master's is a plus)
Minimum 7 years of experience in industry related field
Experience in the following: MATLAB Simulink, CAD (NX or equivalent), Transmission dedicated CAE tool (MASTA or equivalent), FEA (Abaqus or equivalent), CFD/CHT (ANSYS Fluent or equivalent), 1D Simulation (AMEsim or equivalent)
Excellent English skills, mastery of a second language is preferred
Proficiency MS Office
Ability to work in a multicultural environment and different time zones
Proved adaptability to new technical field and/or methodology
Proven experience in both transmission design (bearing, gear, shaft) and lubrication/cooling system design (pump, heat exchanger, filter)
Self-driven attitude with curiosity towards engineering next generation propulsion systems (E-Motors, Inverters, Transmission)
Experienced in system development for automotive (or industry equivalent) component serial production
Strong knowledge in Hybrid and BEV architecture design
Strong understanding in vehicle performance/drivability requirement and able to develop propulsion system requirements
Must have strong fundamentals in electric vehicle drive components
Advanced project management skills
Good written and oral skills to articulate complex engineering problems

Preferred

Experienced in automotive industry advanced product engineering, or BEV/HEV is a plus
High interest in the system simulation field, experienced with MASTA and/or ANSYS FLUENT and/or Particle Works or equivalent preferred
