Early Head Start Family Engagement Coordinator
Kansas Children's Service League is a statewide, nonprofit agency dedicated to protecting and promoting the well-being of children and families. The Early Head Start Family Engagement Coordinator builds partnerships with families to help them identify goals and provides support to assist in achieving self-sufficiency and productivity in the community.

Responsibilities
Complete family strengths/needs (pre- and post-) assessment and facilitate planning goals and objectives to assist Head Start families in meeting their educational, financial, social, health and mental health needs
Assist classroom staff in covering duties such as - meal times, behavior management, parent communication, covering staff during breaks and absences to maintain a safe staff to child ratio and consistency in coverage and care
Schedule health screenings and preventative care appointments at orientation then ensure program compliance with guidance from health staff
Work with parents on improving literacy within the family and personally through continuing education. (In-kind)
Recruit income/over-income/disability and age eligible children continuously
Facilitate and oversee parent group meetings once each month
Qualification
Required
Highschool Diploma or GED
Must be able to read, write and speak English and Spanish
Within eighteen months of hire must obtain Child & Family Partners certificate available through KCSL
At least one year of experience working in an Early Childhood Education Program or working with children and/or families
Preferred
Associate's Degree in Social Services or related field
