Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Epic servers and related infrastructure (Hyperspace, Interconnect, web servers)
Ensure proper configuration of system components like Chronicles, Cache/IRIS, and application middleware
Apply patches, updates, and hotfixes as needed
Monitor server and application performance (CPU, memory, disk I/O, etc.)
Tune system settings to optimize performance and reduce downtime
Troubleshoot issues related to system slowness or failures
Manage non-production and production environments (such as PRD, POC, TST, DEV, and TRN)
Coordinate environment refreshes, migrations, and system cloning
Ensure proper environment isolation and naming conventions
Implement and maintain Epic system security best practices (including user authentication, firewall rules, certificates)
Ensure systems comply with healthcare regulations like HIPAA
Monitor and manage audit logs, encryption, and access controls
Work closely with Epic application teams, infrastructure teams (network, storage, virtualization), and third-party vendors
Provide operations support for Epic-related issues
Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support when needed
