Solutions Architect
NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) is seeking a Solutions Architect to lead and support Enterprise Architecture activities that guide the development and management of their portfolio of solutions. The role involves translating business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring that technology solutions align with business goals and architectural standards.

Responsibilities
Translates business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and documents all solution architecture design and analysis work
Works closely with NACD product owners and product managers to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into comprehensive technology solutions that align with the organization's mission and objectives
Understands business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determines corresponding enterprise solution designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes
Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements
Supports product managers in end-of-life product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire services, or systems, including applications, technologies, processes, and information
Analyzes the business-IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt, and recommends solutions for improvement
Facilitates the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations
Consults with application and infrastructure development projects and products to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify designs to accommodate the solutions architecture
Leads evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, value-streams, business requirements and enterprise standards
Works closely with the program management office (PMO) or project management office to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with customer expectations throughout the project or product lifecycle
Provides consulting support to application architects within agile teams to ensure the project or product aligns with the overall enterprise architecture
Provides deliverables like standard definitions, reference models and architecture designs to support architectural governance to assess the impact of new and ongoing technology investment on the business and DTSI estate
Supports a community of practice (CoP), guiding and helping agile teams, product owners to align with the overall enterprise architecture governance and assurance
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in business, computer science, management information systems or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
Five or more years of experience managing enterprise architecture solutions or related experience
Strong technical skills and advanced understanding of solution design, product management, agile principles and development methodologies
Capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt
Strong people skills; able to build strong relationships and collaboration across diverse and matrixed stakeholders and customers
Ability to facilitate difficult discussions, prioritization of competing interests, managing both strategic and tactical interests
Ability to surface, prioritize and balance multiple stakeholder priorities
A high degree of empathy: An ability to align and relate to the customers
Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience architecting and integrating solutions within membership management or association management systems (AMS) (e.g., Salesforce, Fonteva, NetForum, Cobalt) or similar platforms
Strong knowledge of CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics) and their integration with CMS, data, and marketing automation systems
Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) (e.g., Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, Optimizely, Drupal, WordPress) or similar platforms with ability to deliver personalized, member-centric experiences
Familiarity with event management, credentialing, and certification platforms (e.g., Cvent, Cobalt) or similar association-focused tools and ability to design integrations to support member journeys
Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot, Delivra) or similar tools to support engagement and retention strategies
Understanding of eCommerce platforms and payment gateways (e.g., Shopify, nopCommerce, Optimizely Commerce, Stripe, PayPal) or similar solutions for membership dues, event registration, and product sales
Experience with automated orchestration and workflow systems for seamless member experience delivery, including automated provisioning of membership benefits, credential assignments, content access rights, and service fulfillment triggered by sales orders, renewals, or member status changes
Understanding of data platforms and analytics tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Purview, Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake) or similar platforms and knowledge of data governance practices
Knowledge of database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB) or similar
Understanding of front-end web dev technologies (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS) or related modern frameworks
Knowledge of identity and access management standards (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect) or similar protocols and integration with SSO/member login systems
Experience designing and implementing integration architectures using modern approaches including: Synchronous integrations (e.g., REST APIs, GraphQL, SOAP web services) or similar protocols, Asynchronous messaging (e.g., message queues, event-driven architectures, pub/sub patterns) or similar approaches, Real-time data streaming (e.g., webhooks, server-sent events, WebSockets) or similar technologies, Enterprise integration platforms and middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi) or similar tools, API management and gateway solutions for secure, scalable API ecosystems
Understanding of system development life cycle methodologies (e.g., waterfall, spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, DevOps) or related approaches
Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks (e.g., ITIL) or similar and IT governance controls
Strong understanding of cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) or similar platforms
Knowledge of various aspects of technology architecture including integration patterns, network design, security frameworks, and information governance principles
