Application Engineering Intern (Coherent DSP) - Bachelor's Degree

As an Applications Engineering Intern, you will support the Coherent DSP team by assisting in customer support, testing and validation of coherent DSP solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer engineering needs.

Responsibilities
Support senior engineers in assisting customers with designing networking products utilizing Marvell coherent DSP products
Participate in testing and validation activities for Marvell’s coherent DSP solutions in optical system platforms under supervision
Assist in debugging optical, analog, and signal processing problems in customer implementations
Help capture customer requirements and firmware enhancement requests
Work with cross-functional teams including analog, digital, DSP, system, optical and firmware teams to support customer engineering needs
Support characterization and validation of high-speed electro-optic components such as drivers, Mach Zehnder modulators, ICRs, and lasers
Assist in developing automated test solutions and analysis tools for optical modules and test platforms
Contribute to creating product documentation, application notes and technical reports for customers
Participate in technical training sessions on Marvell’s coherent DSP solutions
Work on meaningful projects that contribute to the team’s objectives and business goals
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an undergraduate program at an accredited 4-year university
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fields
Must have authorization to work in the United States
Commitment to work for the entire duration of the internship (3 months during summer months June-August)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Willingness to learn and perform hands-on technical work
Preferred
Coursework or project experience in digital signal processing (DSP)
Basic knowledge of optical communications or high-speed electronics
Programming experience in Python, C/C++, or MATLAB
Understanding of circuit design and electronic systems
Experience with test equipment and measurement techniques
Knowledge of Ethernet protocols (preferred)
Previous internship or co-op experience in semiconductor or telecommunications
