Assistant Commissioning Engineer- Aviation & Federal (Fort Worth)
Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Engineer to support the execution of commissioning and energy-related tasks for complex buildings and systems. The role involves assisting with commissioning plans, reviewing designs, training personnel, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.

Responsibilities
Assists with preparing commissioning plans, specifications and checklists based on Burns & McDonnell standards
Assists with reviewing designs, equipment submittals, operation and maintenance manual, start-up reports, checklists, and training programs for commissioning plans
Assists with training operation and maintenance personnel to review operating modes, sequence of operations and specifics of equipment, operations, and maintenance of commissioning plans
Apply basic knowledge to document commissioning results and performance shortfalls. Collaborate with owner, operation and maintenance, design and construction personnel to recommend remedial measures
Assists with planning, scheduling, and performing work for small to mid-size projects and supports project teams for large projects and programs
Assists with the development and refinement of methodologies, tools, and standards in support of an evolving commissioning practice
Participate in meetings with owner, operation and maintenance, design and construction personnel to understand project goals and schedule to ensure commissioning is properly coordinated
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualification
Required
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located
Basic knowledge in standard civil engineering techniques, principles and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills
Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
Understanding of site safety procedures, including electrical safety
Preferred
Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred
Involvement on campus or in the community preferred
Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred
Experience with different types of stand-alone monitoring equipment including flow meters, temperature loggers, electrical meters, and others a plus
Understanding and familiarity with DOE-2, eQUEST, Energy Pro, and other modeling software a plus
Engineers in Training-EIT Certification Preferred
