Senior Network Engineer (Dallas, TX) - Austin Industries
Austin Industries is one of the nation’s largest, most diversified U.S.-based construction companies. They are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their IT team, responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing the organization’s network infrastructure while leading complex projects and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain advanced network solutions (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, cloud)
Lead network architecture initiatives, including segmentation, high availability, and disaster recovery
Oversee configuration and management of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, access points)
Develop and enforce network security policies, including firewall rules, IDS/IPS, zero trust, and compliance frameworks
Manage cloud networking (Azure, AWS), including automation, monitoring, and integration with on-premises systems
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across multiple environments
Collaborate with IT leadership and cross-functional teams on strategic projects
Mentor and train junior network engineers and administrators
Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve network efficiency and security
Document network designs, procedures, and incident responses
Additional duties may be assigned
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on enterprise environments
Deep expertise in network design, WAN/LAN, SD-WAN, wireless, IPv4/IPv6, dynamic routing protocols
Advanced proficiency with Cisco and Aruba device management
Strong background in cloud networking (Azure, AWS), automation (PowerShell, Python, Terraform), and network monitoring tools
Proven experience with network security: firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, web filtering, access control
Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor team members
Certifications: CCNP/CCIE, Aruba Certified, or equivalent advanced credentials
This role may travel to remote job sites or office locations on an as-needed basis
Travel is required to industry conferences and training sessions as needed
Physical requirements: Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50lbs
Physical requirements: Dexterity to handle small components and tools
Physical requirements: Prolong periods of sitting and working at a computer and standing and walking during job site or office visits

Preferred
Experience with network automation, scripting, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Familiarity with compliance standards (NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS)
