This role involves overseeing the Cat Scan Department in the absence of management and ensuring efficient operations while performing general Cat Scan procedures.

Responsibilities

Performs general Cat Scan procedures for patients of all age groups served. Duties include: general operating procedures, start up procedures, calibration of equipment, troubleshooting, QC, preventative maintenance, malfunctioning equipment and problem solving. Assists in evaluation of new procedures, reagents and equipment. Ensures correct exam is performed with the right patient, at the right time, verifies patient identification. Explains procedure and assesses the patient before testing occurs. Assists the radiologists with fluoroscopic examinations according to departmental policies and procedures. Follows protocol for PACS and RIS electronic systems

Coordinates the scheduling and efforts of the CT Technologists. Mentors new and less experienced staff and students

Performs billing and charging with hospital computer systems

Identifies, proposes solutions and assists in implementation of ideas for improvement in patient care and departmental / hospital operations. Identifies opportunities and implements strategies to decrease waste in supplies and equipment

Maintains inter and intra departmental communication via phone, fax, computer, etc. Maintains communication with CT Technologists. In depth knowledge of human anatomy, patient positioning and technical judgment

Completion of JRCERT approved formal program in Radiologic Technology

Two years cat scan experience with demonstrated leadership skills

Currently Certified and Registered in Radiography ARRT

Three years cat scan experience with demonstrated leadership skills

CT Registry also preferred
