They are seeking a Lead Configuration Manager to establish and oversee a team of Configuration Management specialists, ensuring effective configuration management systems and processes at multiple NASA/JSC labs.

Responsibilities

Implement hardware and software version control processes, policies and procedures

Develop and implement configuration management tools (e.g. JEDII, COSMIC, Models and Sims) to store, track, and manage configuration items

Work with customers (other projects and hardware/software owners) to understand requirements and desired test outcomes

Implement hardware and software version control processes, policies and procedures

Maintain and develop the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing and integration

Develop configuration control process and change management process for lab equipment

Support changes in configuration for hardware and software both temporary and permanent related to nonconformances troubleshooting to ensure CM is fully engaged if needed

Utilize configuration management tools (e.g. JEDII, COSMIC, Models and Sims, etc) to store, track and management configuration items

Manage configuration freeze process including integrity seals on hardware racks and software folders that will be used to support loading of both ground and flight software to support individual tests

Manage and maintain configuration records for various tests for documentation or future anomalies that require investigations

Perform audits to confirm CM processes are being followed and the hardware matches the approved engineering drawings and make corrective action recommendations for disposition by Gateway T&V leadership

Represent the XLab at various control boards and readiness reviews

Required

Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master's degree and normally possess 10-15 years of related experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field

Outstanding written/oral communication skills with experience presenting data and disseminating information to a variety of audiences

Demonstrated ability to work with interdisciplinary teams

Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time

Experience with aerospace industry standard configuration management specifications

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position

Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
