Part-Time Community Services Leader
The City of Rohnert Park is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join their After-School Program Team as Community Service Leaders. This role involves overseeing recreational programs and ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children after school.

Responsibilities
Oversees and supervises recreational programs and activities
Maintains safety and program discipline
Supervises activities in community parks, community centers, and sports center
Provides customer service
Responds to requests, complaints, and inquiries from class instructors, rental groups, and the public
Ensures the safety of the public and staff by inspecting and maintaining facilities and equipment
Monitors facility use; opens, closes, and secures building for events and assists in supervision and preparation of the facility and amenities for patron use
Issues and collects recreation equipment and supplies
Prepares reports and maintains a variety of logs, records, and files related to assigned activities
May perform cashing duties, maintain adequate change, prepare deposits, and balance register
May perform general office duties including answering telephones, greeting the public, computer work, including data entry, processing mail, and filing
May be assigned as a Disaster Service Worker in the event of a disaster or emergency
Performs related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be 18 with a valid High School Diploma
Sufficient education, training and/or experience to perform the required duties of a Part-Time Community Services Leader
Any combination of education, training and experience which likely provides the required knowledge and abilities
Equivalent to the completion of the tenth (10th) grade
Experience providing recreation or leisure services is desirable
Possession of Basic CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate within 60 days of date of hire
Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
Pursuant to the California Public Response Code 5164, all applicants for positions involving supervisory or disciplinary authority over a minor must complete and submit a CPR Code 5164
Applicants under the age of 18, who are required to attend school, must provide a California Worker's Permit
Knowledge of recreation programs and activities offered by the City of Rohnert Park
Knowledge of basic CPR and first aid
Knowledge of safe work practices
Knowledge of English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation
Knowledge of basic mathematics
Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures including arithmetic
Skill to perform data-entry as required
Skill to safely lift and move items such as chairs, tables, and recreation equipment
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
Ability to become familiar with and enforce safety rules, procedures and regulations regarding the use of public facilities
Ability to perform manual work requiring physical strength, agility, and endurance
Ability to deal courteously with the public under a variety of circumstances
Ability to prepare reports regarding work activities
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff
Ability to perform basic computer and cash register operations
Ability to learn and utilize new technology
Preferred
Experience providing recreation or leisure services is desirable

You will receive $1.00 /hour for any hours worked between (9pm -7am).
In addition, you will receive overtime pay at 1.5 times your regular hourly rate for any hours worked on a City recognized holiday.
Sick hour accrual - 1 hour of paid sick leave for every thirty (30) hours worked beginning on the first day of employment.
The City does not participate in Social Security, but does withhold 1.45% of wages for Medicare taxes.
The City implemented a Deferred Compensation Plan through Nationwide Retirement Solutions as an alternative to Social Security.
