Responsible for the maintenance, operation and repair of Electrical equipment
While the employee will mostly work on electrical equipment may also be required to work on mechanical, refrigeration, HVAC, and general building repair
Qualification
Required
Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services
The chosen candidate will be required to obtain a Class B permit issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle within 30 days of their appointment
They must obtain a Class B license as a condition of satisfactory completion of the probationary period
All potential candidates for this position must be legally eligible to work in the United States at the time of appointment and throughout your employment with the New York State Thruway Authority
If appointed, you will be required to produce documents that verify your identity and authorization to work in the United States, as required by the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, and the Immigration and Nationality Act
Preferred
Experience working under a journey level Electrician or have apprenticeship training in the electrical trade
Some experience in other recognized skilled trades such as plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry
