Responsibilities

Perform laser modelling design and simulation for high energy, high-average power laser systems

Assess different architectural options, working with partners in industry and national laboratories, to determine an optimum solution

Oversee a team driving the design, installation, commissioning and optimization of beyond state-of-the-art laser systems and associated test facilities

Interface with the engineering and optical testing teams to ensure timely design and delivery of complex laser systems

Required

PhD plus 5-years' experience (or equivalent) in laser physics or a relevant field

Experience of laser system design using simulation codes such as Miro or Rsoft, laser energetics models, Frantz-Nodvik, and analysis of non-linear optical systems (SNLO or equivalent)

Modeling and operation of diode-pumped solid-state laser systems and components
