Audio Visual Technician II

By Light Professional IT Services is seeking an Audio Visual Installation Technician to support the Department of Defense. The AV Tech II will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and service of professional audio, video, control systems, and electronic equipment.

Responsibilities

Install, assemble, and repair AV systems in accordance with documentation, industry standards, and best practices
Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling, ensuring compliance with specifications
Route cabling through conduits and ceilings as outlined in project documentation
Maintain updated as built documentation of system installations
Read and interpret project drawings, schematics, engineering notes, and operation manuals
Experienced installing AV systems and equipment including flat panel displays, control systems, and signal routing or processing devices
Skilled in the installation of heavy or large displays and complex video wall solutions
Demonstrate strong cable management skills with the ability to route, secure, and label cables neatly and professionally
Familiar with multimedia systems (VTC, video walls, Crestron), telecommunications transport, and secure/non-secure communications
Fabricate, cable, and test equipment racks and cabinets
Communicate effectively and professionally, exercising tact in high-pressure situations
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic test equipment
Perform installations and service work in elevated or confined spaces
Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Troubleshoot complex audio visual systems supporting mission critical operations
Perform, track, and maintain large scale equipment inventories to ensure accountability of project assets
Complete and submit project documentation and administrative forms accurately and on schedule
Willing to travel to customer sites as required (CONUS/OCONUS)
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Willing to travel up to approximately 80% of the time, both within the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside the Continental United States (OCONUS)
Ability to obtain or possess a US Passport

Minimum of 2 to 5 years installing audiovisual equipment including video panels, speakers, racking, microphones, A/V cabling and wiring
Currently working towards an IT Certification such as Security+, CISSP, etc
Possess or in-process of obtaining A/V industry related certifications such as AVIXA CTS-I, CTS-D, ANP, Crestron, Extron or Biamp certifications
Experience with configuration and programming of AV control systems and audio visual equipment
Possess a minimum of SECRET clearance
Ability to lift and carry equipment or tools exceeding 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with team assistance, depending on installation demand
