Responsibilities
Take full ownership of complex features and projects, guiding them from initial concept (0-1) through design, development, launch, and ongoing support
Bring a customer-focused mindset to all development, balancing the need to iterate quickly and deliver customer wins iteratively
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, ML, and Design team members to translate high-level requirements into robust, scalable features and create sustained and aligned impact
Mentor and guide other engineers on the team
Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience developing and shipping outstanding customer-focused products
Strong programming fundamentals in Java, Python, Golang, TypeScript or JavaScript
Experience designing and maintaining complex systems and application services
Ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver project milestones with your team
Seeks to iterate on new products based on customer feedback
Preferred
Experience using LLM technologies
