Athletics Facilitator
St. Paul's School is seeking an Athletics Facilitator to support the operation and maintenance of athletic facilities and equipment. The role involves routine maintenance, event setup, and ensuring safe environments for users in various athletic areas, including the pool and fitness center.

Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on athletic facilities, equipment, uniforms, and machines
Coordinate and assist with athletic event set-ups and take-downs
Schedule and execute projects related to the general repair and upkeep of facilities
Conduct daily laundry loads of athletic uniforms and practice gear
Ensure proper storage and care of athletic equipment, uniforms, and supplies
Occasionally, remove trash, debris, snow, and ice using hand tools and power equipment
Assist other General Services functions as needed (e.g., event setups, gym setups, special event setups, cleaning, and furniture moves)
Perform other related duties as assigned
Interact with coaches and students in positive and helpful ways
Complete accredited training to become a Certified Pool Operator
Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance, including vacuuming, scrubbing, and caring for stainless steel
Maintain a thorough understanding of all laws, regulations, and safety protocols related to pool operations
Support the Pool Manager with: + Opening and closing procedures. + Twice-daily checks of pool chemicals and temperature, or every 4 hours. + Recordkeeping for maintenance, incidents, and operations. + Support on-duty lifeguards and scheduled pool activities (e.g., swim lessons)
Perform monthly (or as needed) backwashing of pool systems
May additionally serve as a certified lifeguard if certification is achieved
Perform maintenance of the rowing tank. Including annual drain and cleaning of tanks
Periodically monitor the Strength & Fitness Center and exercise spaces
Clean and maintain all fitness equipment on a regular basis
Monitor user behavior and ensure adherence to operating policies and safety procedures
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of two years of relevant experience in facility, athletics, or maintenance work
General knowledge of sports equipment, tools, and materials
Familiarity with cleaning agents and maintenance techniques for athletic equipment
Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment and facility repairs
Strong reading comprehension and ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, and work instructions
Capable of writing clear, routine reports and correspondence
Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals)
Effective problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to follow written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions
Valid driver's license required
Ability to achieve Certified Pool Operator Certification
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching
Regular use of hands for handling, operating, or repairing equipment
Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds regularly
Requires visual acuity for close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
Must be able to work in varied physical positions and conditions, both indoors and outdoors
Must be available for emergency snow removal and ice control call-ins
Overtime may be required during peak seasons
Vacation approvals may be limited during high-activity periods
