Postdoctoral Associate - Cytogenetics

Responsibilities
Characterize chromosomal rearrangements in the arboviral vector Aedes aegypti genome
Study the distribution of chromosomal rearrangements across the global tropics
Investigate the role of chromosomal rearrangements in mosquitoes' adaptation to different climatic variables
Study the molecular basis of genetic divergence underlying inversion-associated phenotypes
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in genetics, cell biology, entomology, or a related discipline received in last five years with at least one year of eligibility remaining
Experience in molecular biology
Use of modern technologies such as Hi-C proximity ligation
Advanced cytogenetics
Fluorescence in situ hybridization
Bioinformatics
Preferred
Molecular biology and genetics laboratory experience
web computer skills
ability to learn new techniques and procedures
excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
