Mechanical Project Engineer (Refrigeration)

The Mechanical Project Engineer will lead a refrigeration design team, managing engineering projects from conception through completion while ensuring high-quality and code-compliant solutions. Responsibilities

Conduct site investigations and prepare reports with findings and recommendations
Produce design plans, calculations, and reports with limited direction
Coordinate with sub-consultants and multi-discipline team members
Interact directly with clients, providing support and technical guidance
Develop and manage phase- and task-level budgets and schedules
Plan, assign, and supervise production staff, leading them through design tasks
Coordinate responses to addenda, RFIs, and change orders
Assist with proposals and scope development for new projects
Maintain organized project files and documentation
Ensure constructability and technical accuracy of design deliverables
Apply knowledge of liability issues and risk management in design decisions
Provide mentorship, training, and technical leadership for refrigeration staff

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or related discipline) required
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
8+ years of experience in refrigeration system design and preparation of construction documents, preferably for commercial projects such as retail grocery supermarkets or cold storage facilities
Proven experience managing teams and delivering projects from design through construction support
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite
