Diesel Service Technician

Responsibilities

Basic understanding of service intervals
Locate fluid types, capacities, and special instructions in the manufacturer's digital service manual
Service, grease, and lube all mobile equipment
Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors
Perform repairs as needed to address any issues
Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools safely throughout the shop and plant
Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed on a daily and monthly basis regarding all mobile equipment
Enter and maintain service reports for all the mobile equipment in written or electronic form
Engage in physical activities that involve whole-body movement and significant use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials

Required

High School diploma or equivalent required
Ability to work overtime and extended hours, including weekends, depending on customer and company demands
Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises
Must know industrial tools, their uses and maintenance
Subject matter expert with the ability to apply knowledge and experience in situations
Must have a Valid driver's license
Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
Ability to clearly and effectively convey information, ideas, and messages to others in both written and verbal formats
Ability to recognize, understand, and adhere to safety protocols and procedures in the workplace
Ability to thoroughly and accurately complete tasks, ensuring that no aspects or elements are overlooked
Ability to work effectively with others to achieve common goals by fostering teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect
Solid mechanical understanding of mobile equipment, including basic maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor issues

Preferred

Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred
Additional vocational/trade school training in a mechanical field is also preferred
Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred
