Responsibilities
Use client directives and site-specific design criteria and apply engineering principles and skills to prepare the design of low-voltage and telecommunications systems, equipment, components, and products for commercial and industrial purposes and assist in developing bid and contract documents
Design and produce plans and documents, including voice, data, structured cabling (horizontal and vertical), audio-visual, security, access control, intrusion detection, and other low-voltage systems, including inside and outside the plant
Coordinate system scope, design layout, and drawings with clients and other disciplines
Perform telecommunications and low-voltage systems analysis and develop appropriate system concepts, layouts, and details
Oversee projects from inception through final transition and coordinate with senior management, clients, and subcontractors, ensuring the schedules are met and resources remain in check
Prepare technical specifications
Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, industry standards, and other applicable codes related to the design and layout of low voltage and telecommunications systems
This position may also entail working with engineers preparing schedules, budgets, and status reports
Prepare layout prints for supervisor or client
Qualification
Required
7-10+ years of related electrical and communications design/engineering experience on commercial and industrial multi-use buildings
Recent experience working for a consulting engineer or engineer/architectural firm designing Low Voltage systems for facilities/buildings
Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD design software, and ability to do own design engineering work
Experience with existing building renovations and tenant improvements
Ability to solve complex design problems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team environment and experience maintaining strong client relationships
Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and engage with multi-discipline project teams in meeting client needs in a timely manner and within budget objectives
Strong organizational skills, creativity, and enthusiasm
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Preferred
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Associate Degree focused on Technology Design/ Installation
RCDD Preferred; OSP and NTS a plus
Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Member desired
Design-build experience is a plus
7-10+ years of Project Management experience preferred
