Scheduling Coordinator I (Behavioral Psych-Columbia)
Kennedy Krieger Institute is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator I who will be responsible for collecting patient and treatment information, coordinating appointments, and providing administrative support to both patients and clinical staff. The role involves ensuring efficient scheduling and maintaining communication with patients and clinics regarding appointments.

Responsibilities
Schedules new and follow-up patient appointments
Answers phones, directs calls as needed, takes messages, returns calls to answer inquiries/questions, and provides accurate and timely follow-up
Ensures that new and follow-up appointments are confirmed prior to the date of service
Continually monitor scheduling in Outlook and EPIC. Move patient appointments if necessary to maintain the highest level of efficiency and patient satisfaction
Maintain and update scheduling calendars for all providers
Tracks all new and follow-up patients using the scheduling system and work with providers and other Care Centers to ensure proper scheduling related to patient needs
Maintain regular contact with patients, clinics, and departments regarding pending appointments including follow-up activity. Respond to patients, families, and clinic issues in a timely and professional manner
Provide administrative support to patients and clinical staff. Seek assistance from the supervisor, as appropriate, when seeking solutions to patient issues
Maintain a general and updated understanding of insurance requirements as they relate to the Care Center
Retrieve and assess system information related to insurance authorization for patient services from the Insurance Verification Team
Collect, track, and process quality improvement and patient tracking data as needed
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent required
1-3 years' experience with patient registration, scheduling, and/or coordinating patient services required
Preferred
Associate or higher degree in human services, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
