Customer Service Mechanical Engineer I

Responsibilities
Support customers and Mikron Customer Service staff by providing information and technical support
Design machine upgrades to improve yield, improve reliability, and/or update obsolete parts
Responsible for mechanical engineering of equipment during the design, assembly and implementation phases of any Mikron Corporation Denver Customer Service projects, while supporting company goals, values, and operating principles
Successful design of stations & systems to meet the budget and time expectations as defined by the CUS Technical Supervisor or project PM
Collaborate with suppliers as required
Improve and develop mechanical engineering skills as requested by CUS Manager or CUS Technical Supervisor
Participate in Project Design reviews internally and with customers
Participate in weekly customer meetings as required by CUS Technical Supervisor or project PM
Design of mechanical cams with support of CUS Technical Supervisor or Mentor
Support debug activities and engineering modifications for troubleshooting
Support software design specification with the Control Engineer
Support CUS team to create validation package per customer’s specifications
Responsible for the design of pneumatic schematics following project specific requirements
Responsible for accurately and timely update or generate the Mechanical Engineering documentation package assigned to each customer project
Communicate technical concepts in an open, clear, precise, and effective manner with customers, peers, colleagues of differing technical backgrounds, and all levels of management
Material releases in ERP system
Perform other duties as assigned by CUS Manager or CUS Technical Supervisor
Analyze the specifications of obsolete parts in order to identify modern replacements, and identify any changes that would need to be made to the machine in order to implement the modern replacement
Identify the root cause of machine failures in order to identify and create solutions
Assist customers by reviewing documentation, 3D models, drawings, and machine data to provide technical support
Qualification
Required
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or 5 years of relevant working experience
Knowledge of industry accepted engineering practices
Computer Aided Design experience
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must be able to travel as requested
Must be available to work overtime
Willing and able to travel 10% of the year with overtime of 25%, including travel with little to no notice
May be required to work off shift hours and Holidays
Must have a valid state Driver license
