LATAM Transactional Lawyer

Macquarie Group is a global financial services group operating in 31 markets, and they are seeking an experienced transactional attorney for their Commodities and Global Markets team. The role involves advising on lending deals in the LATAM region, structuring transactions, and managing documentation and negotiations for various financing matters.

Responsibilities

Counselling them on strategic initiatives
Providing transaction level support
Structure transactions
Lead and manage the documentation and negotiation of lending transactions
Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements
Draft, review, and negotiate security documents
Draft, review, and negotiate intercreditor agreements
Advise the business on legal and regulatory issues impacting lending transactions in LATAM jurisdictions
Support capital markets transactions, including debt issuances and structured finance deals
Stay up to date with developments in LATAM banking, finance, and capital markets regulations
Provide training and updates to internal teams and clients

Required

Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree
4+ years of experience with capital markets transactions in the LATAM region
Deep understanding of banking and finance laws and regulations in key LATAM markets (e.g., Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Argentina)
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and multicultural environment
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Fluency in English and Spanish

Preferred

Portuguese is a plus
