Responsibilities
The Cardiovascular Technician/ Radiology Tech III assists in all procedures performed in the Cardiovascular Intervention Center and is a member of the Electrophysiology Lab
Provides a safe patient care environment, maintains and operates the physiological monitoring/recording system for both interventional cardiac and electrophysiology studies
Assists physicians by functioning as scrub tech, monitor role or assistant circulator, archives all digital images and documents all actions taken by the EP Lab
Responsible for being able to setup and operate all equipment within the department that may be required for a given procedure including but not limited to: Electrophysiology studies, Ablation, Pacemakers and ICD implants
Serves as a lead preceptor for peers, students and other staff members
Works with leadership to implement new and/or changes in procedures and protocols
Assumes responsibility in performance improvement activities and other department/organizational committees, such as The Joint Commission related topics, safety audits, turn around time (TAT) projects, and customer service
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED required
Graduate of an accredited JCERT training program required
ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
ARRT - Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) required
A minimum of 5 years of Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Surgical Center or acute care experience required
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree preferred
RCIS or RCES from Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred
CEPS or CCDS from International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners preferred
Applicants with at least 3 years of experience are eligible for consideration as an Electrophysiology Tech II
