Responsibilities
Architect and own the comprehensive test plans and qualification strategies for complex, high-availability FlashArray features, directly enabling our industry-leading product releases
Design and build advanced automation frameworks and tools using Python to simplify complex testing and integration workflows, significantly increasing the team's efficiency and coverage
Drive root cause analysis by triaging and debugging automated test failures across our multi-machine hardware/software stack, collaborating closely with development and support teams to resolve critical customer issues swiftly
Identify and close critical test gaps by analyzing failure modes, designing robust corner case and failure scenarios, and implementing new tests to strengthen our quality assurance feedback loop
Ensure flawless deployment by executing interoperability testing, firmware updates, and upgrade path qualification with an acute focus on backwards compatibility and real-world customer use cases
Qualification
Required
Expert-level proficiency in defining and implementing systems test strategies and comprehensive test plans for complex enterprise storage features
Demonstrated mastery in test automation, including strong hands-on experience using Python to design, build, and maintain automation frameworks
Deep knowledge of the storage stack, including high availability, caching, flash drives, RAID, deduplication/compression, and a solid understanding of filesystems, block storage, and I/O paths
Strong analytical skills to design failure scenarios and analyze errors for effective root cause analysis, combined with a working knowledge of virtualization (e.g., VMware/Hyper-V) and storage protocols (e.g., Fibre Channel, iSCSI)
Experience working hands-on in hardware labs or data centers with storage arrays, coupled with a deep understanding of customer workloads and IO tools like vdbench or iometer
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave
