English Language Arts - Content Teacher

Seven Hills Foundation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate English Language Arts Teacher to join their education team at Stetson School, a trauma-informed residential and educational treatment program for young men. In this role, you will deliver high-quality instruction while supporting students with emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging ELA lessons aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning styles and individual education plans (IEPs)
Integrate trauma-informed strategies and differentiated instruction into the classroom
Design creative, inclusive lessons that build academic skills and confidence
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Participate in IEP and ISP (Individual Service Plan) meetings with caregivers and specialists
Track student progress through regular assessments and detailed reporting
Foster a structured, respectful, and nurturing classroom culture
Apply positive behavior support strategies, consistent with CPI and agency guidelines
Maintain safety, order, and emotional security for all students
Work closely with clinicians, case managers, and direct care staff to support holistic student development
Attend team meetings and engage in school-wide planning
Pursue ongoing professional development to meet state and program standards

Qualification

Massachusetts Teaching LicenseEnglish Language ArtsIndividualized Education ProgramsTrauma-Informed StrategiesClassroom ManagementCPR/First Aid CertificationAt-Risk YouthCollaboration Skills

Required

Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field required
Must hold or be eligible for a Massachusetts Preliminary, Initial, or Professional license in English Language Arts (6–12); waiver support may be available
CPR/First Aid required (or willing to obtain)
0–3 years in a classroom or special education setting; experience with at-risk youth is a plus
Valid MA (or state of residence) driver's license required
