Responsibilities
Review blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to determine material and labor requirements for projects
Estimate costs for materials, equipment, and labor, including identifying quantity take-offs
Use cost estimating software and techniques to create detailed cost models and estimates
Conduct market research to determine pricing for materials, labor, and other project costs
Compare estimates to actual costs once projects are completed to improve future estimating accuracy
Clearly communicate estimates and assumptions to project stakeholders
Maintain thorough records of cost estimates and supporting documentation
Qualification
Required
Associates degree in construction management, engineering or related field
Basic knowledge of construction materials, labor, contracts, and procedures
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and cost estimating software
Strong analytical, problem-solving and math skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
