Executive Director - Independent Living

Oakmont Senior Living is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently. The Executive Director is responsible for community operations, strategic leadership, and ensuring the organization's services align with its mission while overseeing financial success and staffing.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Develop and implement the organization’s strategic vision and direction in collaboration with senior management
Lead efforts to ensure that the organization’s mission, vision, and goals are understood and achieved across all levels of the organization
Provide guidance and mentorship to staff and ensure effective team management
Identify and develop community standards of service congruent with the population seeking placement
In partnership with the senior leadership, project and develop a sound operating budget
Along with Leasing Consultant, represent the organization at public events, conferences, and meetings to promote its mission and build community partnerships
In partnership with senior leadership and the leasing consultant, develop marketing and communication strategies to increase visibility and awareness of the organization’s mission and programs
Oversee and ensure proper management of the accounts payable/accounts receivable systems
Oversee and ensure accurate payroll
Standardize operations of each department
Maintain the community in compliance with regulatory agencies
Working with senior leadership, develop and carry out a successful marketing program which maintains > 95% occupancy
Approve all admissions and ensure a smooth admissions process
Manage the hiring of new staff and the performance management process for unsatisfactory staff up to and including termination
Participate in a regular review of vendor performance with senior management
Manage and direct any investigations in the community
Adheres to privacy, respect and confidentiality of all residents, staff and the community
Meet/exceed established performance goals. Additional performance requirements may be communicated
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of his/her job processes and procedures. Efficiently use resources (including staff and management) to obtain additional knowledge
Demonstrate a 'can do' attitude by responding positively to instructions. Follow instructions and work harmoniously with others to complete the job or task
Commit to his/her job and to the success of the company. Take initiative to offer ideas to improve processes or results
Maintain a safe workplace. Report all unsafe work conditions to the Executive Director. Follow and enforce all safety policies
Maximize cost efficiency and productivity in the use of all resources of the department and organization
Attend all required department events, staff meetings, and any other job-related functions
Attend and successfully completes all mandatory trainings
Regular and reliable attendance
Perform other tasks as required
Ability to work with people with physical and mental disabilities including those using profanity, derogatory language and the like

Directly responsible for leading all department managers and indirectly responsible for all employees within the facility
Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; labor management, scheduling, planning, assigning and directing work; receiving calls and finding replacements for absent staff; preparing performance evaluations; receiving and resolving employee complaints; monitoring and correcting job performance of employees; and disciplining employees up to and including discharge
