Responsibilities
Provide support within the Airframe (Structures) Service Engineering organization by working with customers to ensure that their fleets are operating safely, efficiently, and reliably
Apply broad knowledge of Boeing commercial aircraft design principles to assess and resolve product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle
Lead other engineers in conducting root cause analysis and developing dispositions for design non-conformances
Apply engineering principles to research technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved through either customer or design engineering solutions
Identify documents, analyze reported problems, and communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety
Recommend and manage resolutions to reported problems and deviations
Develop and implement product and process improvements
Represent the engineering community in the build through post-production environment
Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of aircrafts
This position may supervise junior professional employees performing design repair solutions
Qualification
Required
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or closely related field plus 5 years of experience as a Stress Engineer, Service Engineer, Product Engineer, or related occupation
5 years of experience responding and resolving service requests on Boeing 7 Series products
5 years of experience in Structures Engineering on Boeing 7 Series Products
5 years of experience creating repair plans
5 years of experience conducting static strength analysis on repair designs
5 years of experience designing jacking and shoring schemes
At least 3 years of experience leading a team of 10 or more engineers
