Quality Control Specialist

Bossier Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Specialist to perform quality inspections throughout all stages of production. The role involves ensuring products meet the highest standards and specifications through various inspections and collaboration with engineering and production teams.

Non-profit Organization Management

Responsibilities

Conduct inspections on steel components, welds, paint coatings, concrete, assemblies, and electrical systems
Verify compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and internal quality procedures
Interpret and utilize technical drawings, CAD models, and work instructions
Maintain and update quality documentation, reports, and inspection records
Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to identify and resolve quality issues
Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in process optimization projects
Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 quality management systems and industry standards (e.g., B16.9, MSS-SP75)
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions
Utilize data analysis tools and Microsoft Office (including Access) to track quality trends and KPIs

Required

At least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing in metal or steel processing
Proven experience in both manufacturing process engineering and quality control
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and relevant industry standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Access)
Hands-on experience with CAD software and interpreting technical documentation
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments

Preferred

Experience with welding operations and knowledge of ASME Sec. IX
Certifications such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), or equivalent
Experience in equipment commissioning, installation, or process improvement
Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as PT, MT, UT, RT, and ET
Understanding of advanced statistical process control techniques
