Power Transmission Engineer / Technical Lead

Responsibilities

Create a power transmission engineering program and team at Merrick
Identify software and technical roles Merrick needs to acquire to begin executing transmission engineering in Georgia on low voltage transmission line projects
Work closely with Merrick’s Atlanta transmission line mapping team. Learn about the team, clients and capabilities
Act as technical lead for transmission line engineering projects, helping perform the work and train the team on the process
Collaboratively use judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments
Apply general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields in support of participation on multi-disciplinary teams

Required

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in either Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering with Electrical Emphasis Engineering from an accredited program
Minimum 8 years of electric transmission system experience
Transmission line design and engineering within the last 12 months
Travel will fluctuate but must be willing and able to travel approximately 25% of the time to Georgia
PE License in Georgia or ability to receive via reciprocity
PLS-CADD design and clearance assessment experience
Experience with AutoCAD based drawing generation
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under Merrick's insurance carrier
Must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship

Preferred

Knowledge of the Georgia power market
Knowledge of electric distribution system design and engineering
Experience with GIS data management and GIS design
