Administrative Intern (Emergency Management)

The State of Missouri is seeking an Administrative Intern in Emergency Management to assist with the implementation of emergency management programs. This entry-level position involves supporting emergency communications, disaster recovery, and various planning activities under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

Implements activities related to the department's emergency preparedness, prevention, mitigation, response, and recovery planning
Assists with Central Office Emergency Operations Center (MoDOT EOC) including standard operating procedures, training, and coordination among incident management personnel
Monitors transportation and infrastructure emergency management issues, including security, medical, and weather-related issues
Ensures communications systems, equipment, and processes are maintained
Assists with monthly emergency communications testing, including radio systems and satellite communications; corrects issues identified during testing and development of monthly summaries and maintenance of standard operating procedures
Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned

Required

Enrolled in a relevant bachelor's or post-bachelor's degree program full-time (12+ credit hours)
30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply
Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent
Job requires occasional, statewide, overnight travel
Job requires exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment
Job may require operation of vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials
